Jacqueline Beck Fine Art: ABOUT THE ARTIST
The artist, Jacqueline Karrick Beck, is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from Centre College where she studied drawing and painting under Professor Sheldon Tapley and glass blowing under Professor Stephen Rolfe Powell. It was at Centre College that she first developed an interest in drawing the human form. After graduating from Centre, she moved to New York City and earned a Masters in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art. While at Sotheby’s she interned at Heller Gallery, a widely known and recognized glass gallery in Manhattan. During her schooling and for a couple of years afterward, she worked at Sotheby’s Auction House, in the Prints and Jewelry departments.
Recently Jacqueline moved back to Lexington and has translated her interest in the human form to the form of horses. Her charcoals on display portray the power, strength and musculature of the horse. Jacqueline’s work has been part of private collections and the collection of the Centre College Library and Sotheby’s.
